September Deals Update

During August, we were delighted to announce the launch of our brand new residential estate agency site – SW Residential. Our residential team have over 50 years’ combined experience in the Leeds property market and offer a bespoke service to landlords, tenants and investors respectively.

In the second quarter of this year Newcastle city centre office take-up totalled 53,768 sq ft, the strongest quarter in the city centre since 2016. Seven of the deals in Newcastle also saw businesses moving into Grade A accommodation, further highlighting the occupier trend of relocating from larger Grade B offices to more prestigious and efficient Grade A offices.

In Leeds, city centre take-up totalled just under 150,000 sq ft across 34 transactions. The out of town market achieved a 100% increase on the previous quarter with total take up of 167,962 sq ft, outperforming the city centre market for the first time in two years.

Wiltshire Council has appointed us to sell two of their outdoor education centres, one of which is located in Marlborough, and the other in Devizes. Agent on the properties, Lee Southan commented, “This was a really exciting instruction for us, as whilst we’re used to dealing with a great variety of property types it offered something a little different to the norm.”

We have been appointed sole selling agents by KPMG, as administrators of Adam & Baka Ltd, owners of a very substantial freehold property portfolio located in Bradford, West Yorkshire. The large portfolio extends to 400,000 sq ft of accommodation and has a gross rent roll approaching £350,000 per year.

In Teesside, we have improved our already strong position with several significant commercial property instructions in the region. The Northshore development in Stockton-on-Tees highlights the increased investment in the area and the all-new Station Place development in Newton Aycliffe is gaining unprecedented interested we’re pleased to be in talks with several potential occupiers seeking high quality new industrial space.
