Sanderson Weatherall has completed reroofing work for Galileo Multi Academy Trust at Westgarth Primary School.

As part of the project, the team at Sanderson Weatherall provided the school with water butts to allow them to collect and recycle rainwater and then use it as part of their daily teaching programme. As well as the ecological benefits of recycling rainwater, this should also impact the school economically by helping to reduce their water usage and the associated costs.

The Derbigum Olivine Cap Sheet as manufactured and supplied by Alumasc Roofing that was chosen for the project, will also help to reduce the carbon footprint of the school, by converting the CO2 in rainwater into silicon dioxide and magnesium carbonate, which are two harmless products to the environment.  The 1200sqm of new roofing felt will help to neutralise 2,100kg of CO2, per year.

Here at SW we are not only committed to sustainability internally, but we also want to help all our clients become more sustainable too. Get in touch today to see how we can help you.
