Graham provides specialist advice to a range of corporate clients in the calculation of Business Rate liabilities, whether for occupied or empty rates. He has extensive knowledge of all business rate legislation, including the issue of rate demands and collection of charges raised, up to and including, court enforcement action.
Before joining Sanderson Weatherall, Graham was employed as a local billing authority manager, responsible for the issuing and collection of rate demands. Due to his detailed knowledge of non-domestic rates liabilities he has spoken at the Institute of Revenues, Rating and Valuation annual conference.
He provides strategic advice on ways to minimise business rate liabilities by applying all exemptions and reliefs that are available. including Transitional Relief, Charity Relief (including mandatory, discretionary and community amateur sports clubs), Small Property Relief, Rate Deferral and exemptions.
