This week is National Careers week and here at Sanderson Weatherall we always endeavour to provide the best training, experience and guidance to our young people be that Graduates, work placements, apprentices or work experience.
During the last 5 year period SW has helped over 30 Graduates pass their APC and in addition supported a number of our clients in helping their Graduates through the APC process and continue to do so.
The APC consists of a written submission and a professional interview. These take place after acquiring at least two years’ relevant experience and completing a structured training programme, which provides a broad range of experience across different disciplines and departments.
Here at Sanderson Weatherall, candidates prepare for the assessment by taking part in mock interviews and receiving advice from their colleagues and external consultants on presentation and interview skills.
Tom Cross a Graduate Surveyor in Leeds office commented “Sanderson Weatherall have provided long term support and guidance for me, from my introduction into the property sector during work experience from school, all the way to the present day in my efforts to pass my APC as a graduate surveyor in the Commercial Valuation department in our Leeds head office.
SW have not only supported me as an employee, but also as a student, offering me the opportunity to work here during my placement year from university before I returned as a graduate. This experience was invaluable and helped me contextualise theory.”
As well as Graduate Surveyors, Sanderson Weatherall also currently have four apprentices working across a variety of different disciplines and offices. As well as employing apprentices we also offer work experience and year-long work placements to students who are interested in gaining some knowledge and experience in the property market.
