Instructed on behalf of a manufacturing company and distributor in County Durham. Following inspection and further investigations we advised that a merge of the existing assessments onsite would be beneficial for a number of reasons.

The merge (which included wind turbines) reduced the overall Rateable Value and we were able to secure ‘green energy relief’ for the turbines and PV panels on site. In addition, having one single assessment at the site following the merge meant that when an ongoing extension completed, we were able to claim ‘improvement relief’ for a year following completion.

The strategic advice generated saving of £375,000 to the client.
