Advising in respect of a Historic House and Gardens, having undertaken an inspection, reviewed valuations and financial accounts we set about submitting a case centred around the application of case law. Following extensive representations to the VOA concerning the valuation approach, we were able to agree a revised rateable value of £1 for the client. Along with subsequent work ensuring the application of a Transitional Certificate and also the merging in of separately assessed areas relating to buildings that had once been let out, our actions have resulted in total savings of over £500,000 being secured for the client to date.
