The sale of historic Parnham House, which was destroyed in a fire three years ago, was completed last month.
Parnham House, which has been described by Historic England as “exceptionally important”, suffered catastrophic fire damage in April 2017, and is now derelict, requiring restoration.
The buyer is a private individual who intends to restore the house “opening the door to a fresh chapter for one of Dorset’s most significant properties.”
The Grade I listed 16th century Elizabethan manor house near Beaminster, one of Dorset’s oldest stately homes, was marketed at a guide price of £2.5 million.
The sale was completed in early March after being marketed by Sanderson Weatherall and Knight Frank.
