It’s been another fantastic year at Sanderson Weatherall. We are performing in line with budget expectations, having achieved our highest ever turnover in 23/24, which again is down to the hard work and adaptability of all the talented people at SW and the ongoing support, resilience and positivity of our public sector and private sector clients.
We have continued to focus on our environmental, social value and governance (ESG) targets during 2024 and the obligations to meet the new RICS mandatory requirements that come into force in January 2025. Our CO2 emissions are now down by 25% from our baseline data in 2020 and our tCO2 per full time equivalent employee (FTE) is 4.25 tonnes compared to the industry average of 6.3 tonnes.
In terms of Social Value, we have also continued to promote inclusivity, diversity and wellbeing in the workplace and the wider community and have recently set up SW Inspire, which has been created to help make everyone at Sanderson Weatherall feel a sense of empowerment and belonging in the workplace. By sharing information and experiences on different topics we aim to create an educated and inclusive work community, in which everyone can thrive.
In terms of governance, we have also continued to ensure we comply with and meet the highest standards when it comes to client money handling procedures, data protection and cyber security. We have also maintained all our BSI accreditations (ISO 9001; 14001; 45001 & 27001) and have secured B Corp status during 2024 and in fact are one of the first multi-disciplinary surveying practices in the UK to achieve this.
In addition, all of our graduate intakes have passed their APC and became qualified surveyors, and we have taken on a further 15 trainees/graduates this year. We remain committed to improving the sustainability of local communities through our ongoing engagement with local communities, the education sector, community organisations, SW clients and charities.
As a company we are continuing to invest in the business as evident by the continuing expansion of our network of offices, which has grown to 10 in total with the new Cardiff office opening in October 2024. We have also more recently launched our new sustainability consultancy service, property auction service and alternatives division that focuses on the healthcare and education sectors. We look forward to expanding our service offering further during 2025.
From everyone at Sanderson Weatherall, we wish you all the very best for 2025.
