On Friday 16th September, as part of International Coastal Clean-up Day our sustainability team arranged a beach clean at one of our clients beaches, Littlehaven Beach in South Tyneside complementing to the work that is already done by their Handy Estates cleaning teams’.

The team collected items such as milk cartons, fishing rope, plastic bottles, Styrofoam and many other harmful objects.  By removing the litter, we made the beach safer for visitors and prevented the garbage from entering the ocean and damaging the eco systems/wildlife that are so often destroyed by such items. It is estimated that 2.9 million small mammals, 100,000 marine animals and 1 million sea birds die each year as a direct result of littering.
