We were instructed by Wellbridge Properties to provide pre-contract advice to the client, contract administration and operating as the principal designer under the CDM regulations.

The project is to repair the roof structure of a nineteenth century locomotive maintenance roundhouse and then strip and re-cover the roof in natural slate using both new Welsh slate of a suitable standard and use the existing slates where they can be re-used. The original rooflights are also to be removed and replaced with new.

We took care to ensure that the new slate sourced was of the appropriate standard and that the rooflights were suitable. Approval was also sought and granted from the Conservation Officer at Leeds City Council. Works are due to complete in September 2023.
