Our three commercial EPC assessors have a combined experience of over 30 years acting as EPC assessors, and over 40 years as building surveyors.

Armed with the knowledge and expertise to assess your property, our EPC assessors will go above and beyond to make sure you know what EPC grade you have, and exactly what you need to do to improve it.

Unique, specific, and detailed explanations of our recommended improvements have already helped hundreds of clients to improve their EPC grades.

Over 100 EPCs were completed in 2024, further improving the experience of our team of EPC assessors.

Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS)

David Fairley is our ESOS assessor, and our most experienced EPC assessor. With over 30 years experience as a building surveyor and EPC assessor, he uses his wealth of experience to carry out ESOS assessments and find ways to effectively reduce your energy usage.

A 2023 update to the UK ESOS Regulations requires all participants to create an ESOS action plan, detailing energy reduction measures by the December 2027 compliance date, and provide annual progress reports.

When executed effectively, your new ESOS plans can be integral to your net zero journey, allowing you to establish short, medium, and long-term energy and carbon reduction goals.

If you meet the qualifying criteria, an ESOS assessment is mandatory. The criteria are:

  • A UK company that either:
    • Employs 250+ people,
    • or Has an annual turnover > £44 million
    • and a balance sheet total > £38 million.

If you meet these criteria and haven’t had an ESOS assessment, the legal deadline for the first ESOS action plan was 5th December 2024, this has now been extended to 5th March 2024.

Contact David Fairley to arrange an ESOS assessment and action plan: david.fairley@sw.co.uk.
