Birmingham City Council, a regular user of its powers of compulsory purchase, most notably of late in regard to the assembly of the Commonwealth Games 2022 site, will have over 250 property interests compulsorily acquired by HS2 to facilitate construction of HS2 Phase 1 London to Birmingham.

Following a formal procurement, The City have appointed Sanderson Weatherall to act on their behalf in the agreement of compensation.

Sanderson Weatherall’s multi-skilled team, including specialists in the Compensation Code, regional property market and construction will prepare claims for compensation and accommodation work covering a vast variety of property interests including depots, burial grounds, riverbeds and property investments.

The team led by Richard Farr and Ben Hartley will work closely with The City to mitigate the impact of one of the largest infrastructure projects likely to be built within The City boundaries this century.
