Birmingham Office – Head of Valuation

Principal Purpose of Job

An opportunity to further develop and grow this important area of our local and national business steam from our Birmingham office. The ideal candidate will also be expected to work closely with other key areas of the office’s business including corporate services, lease consultancy, agency and property management.

The role will involve building upon and expanding the current instructions/client base at local, regional level and develop the business and reputation of Sanderson Weatherall nationally.

Specific Duties and Details of Actual Work

– Overall responsibility for development and delivery of Valuation Consultancy in the Birmingham and West Midlands market.

– Evidence actions to achieve maximised levels of profitability from work undertaken and take the appropriate action to ensure all work is completed at the most profitable level.

– Demonstrate effective leadership qualities and provide a pivotal role in the coaching, mentoring and development of employees within their region / area of specialism.

– Promote a culture of talent development, high levels of technical performance, effective business development contribution through leadership, coaching and mentoring.

– Provide valuation advice to clients on wide range of property sectors within the Birmingham re-gion.

– Demonstrate exemplary personal and team commitment to the quality of service delivered to cli-ents (as measured by feedback on work undertaken and on work referred from existing and for-mer clients)

– Identify and develop new client opportunities and evidence efforts to grow the practice, win tenders and attract new clients. To utilise personal contacts and market knowledge to generate fees by seeking new instructions at local, regional and national level.

– To actively seek potential new clients and promote the Company’s services through BIDs and Marketing promotions.

Qualifications/Experience

1. MRICS/FRICS qualified.
2. Ability to provide valuation advice on wide range of property sectors.
3. Strong client relationship skills.
4. Practical understanding of public sector, commercial property and surveying procedures.
5. Strong verbal & numerical skills and adept at report writing.
6. Ability to work under pressure, manage time and assist the team in meeting deadlines.
7. Commercial acumen, knowledge of competitors, business strategies / tactics.

Physical Conditions

The post holder will be based at the Birmingham office but must be prepared to travel to sites on a regular basis.

Job Development

All employees are expected to keep abreast of developments in legislation and property regulations and must therefore be prepared to continually update their knowledge. All surveyors must satisfy the Continual Professional Development requirements of the RICS.
