What is the Northumberland Line upgrade?
The Northumberland Line project will see the upgrade 18 miles of railways track, including six new stations, three new footbridges and new signal locations. It will providea regular rail passenger service between Ashington and central Newcastle, with several stops inbetween.
What are the timescales for the Northumberland Line upgrade?
The project was given the go ahead on 23rd January 2021 and is set to open in 2024.
