Chartered surveyors at Sanderson Weatherall have completed a deal to help one of the North East’s best known retailers to expand its Middlesbrough premises.
Market Cross Jewellers will open a new watch shop adjoining its existing Linthorpe Road premises, bringing high end brands to the town.
The move will see Market Cross Jewellers stock ranges from Breitling, Cartier, Tag Heuer and Omega, with the potential to bring in more leading brand products.
As well as negotiating the lease, Sanderson Weatherall’s team acted on behalf of the landlord, to assess and negotiate the settlement for the dilapidation claim and managed the necessary work on the new premises, following the departure of the outgoing tenant, Claire’s Accessories. This work, led by David Fairley, prepared the premises for the refurbishment work to ready the space for Market Cross Jewellers’ expansion.
Market Cross Jewellers has shops in Middlesbrough, Yarm, the MetroCentre, Guisborough, Hartlepool, Durham, Thirsk, Northallerton, Barnard Castle, Ripon, Redcar, Peterlee and Skipton.
Roy Welsh, owner of Market Cross Jewellers, said: “The availability of the unit directly adjacent to our existing store, and the ability of Sanderson Weatherall to help us to not only complete a deal, but also undertake the other elements required to enable the landlord to prepare the property, have made this process run smoothly. We are looking forward to bringing this new watch store to Middlesbrough and expanding upon our range of leading brands.”
