Two outdoor education centres on the market in Wiltshire

Wiltshire Council has appointed us to sell two of their outdoor education centres, one of which is located in Marlborough and the other in Devizes.

Braeside is a 4.5-acre site located in Devizes offering a range of outdoor education activities, with 90 beds, conference facilities, classrooms and a fully fitted commercial kitchen.

Braeside boasts fantastic facilities for outdoor activities, including a climbing wall, high-level rope line & zip wire and is ideally located to take advantage of a number of woodland walks in the surrounding area. In addition to general outdoor activities for children the centre also provides courses for able, Gifted, Talented and Enrichment (AGT&E) students.

The second property, Oxenwood is set in a similarly rural location on a 1.4-acre site that is split across two adjacent areas of land. Oxenwood has 38 beds and offers a range of outdoor learning and activities centred around teamwork and effective communication while building resilience and giving young people the opportunity to set their own measurable goals and celebrate their achievements.

Agent on the properties, Lee Southan commented, “This was a really exciting instruction for us, as whilst we’re used to dealing with a great variety of property types it offered something a little different to the norm. We believe strongly in keeping the properties operational and feel privileged to be involved in a project which we know is of significance to the lives of young people that are lucky enough to visit the centres.

“Both of the centres have excellent facilities and are set in desirable locations that offer real potential to purchasers in terms of development, so we expect to receive a great deal of interest.”
