Newcastle team strengthened with three new appointments

Marketing / 13 Oct, 16

To accommodate our increasing number of clients in the North East and beyond, we have strengthened our Newcastle team with three new appointments across our agency, building consultancy and asset management departments.

The appointments follow a spate of recent client successes, including the expansion of Rettie & Co Estate Agency into the North East and the bringing of a new café-bar/restaurant venture to the award-winning Royal Quays Marina, North Shields. Our Newcastle office was also recently appointed to undertake a full valuation of Mental Health Concern’s portfolio of specialist nursing services and assisted living properties throughout Newcastle and Gateshead.

Joining us from PG&A in Gateshead, where she was a director, Sarah James has joined our asset management team as associate partner. Sarah has 14 years of experience in the industry and specialises in property management, rent reviews, lease renewals, lease and strategic property advice.

In her new role, Sarah will provide property and asset management services to new and existing clients.

Graduate surveyor Charlotte Marshall joins us after receiving a first class honours degree in estate management from Northumbria University. Charlotte’s key responsibilities will be to support the agency team in facilitating office, industrial and retail lettings, whilst also working towards her Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) qualification.

The third member of the Newcastle team, Leon Smith has joined our building consultancy department as a graduate building surveyor. Also an alumnus of Northumbria University, Leon will provide assistance to the team by undertaking building surveys and giving clients building advice. Like Charlotte, Leon is working towards his APC and is looking forward to developing his skills and knowledge.

Speaking on the appointments Richard Farr, head of our Newcastle office, said: “It’s great to have Sarah, Charlotte and Leon joining the team in Newcastle. Each brings with them knowledge and an eagerness to grow and develop, I’m looking forward to working with them very much.

“The appointments show Sanderson Weatherall’s commitment to developing its teams at any level, be it a senior or graduate appointment. By working with a nationally recognised company, all three will be able to take advantage of our collective experience, which will give them an excellent grounding for the progression of their careers.”
