“Sometimes a good business can struggle due to factors beyond its control, such as rising prices of raw materials. This kind of pressure, or the loss of a key contract, can impact profitability and the ability to service term debt.
This is where asset-based lending (ABL) can come into play. By restructuring the funding structure to a revolving ABL facility, it can provide a firm platform for consolidation and, in time, growth.
Even in these uncertain times, the ABL market continues to be buoyant with reasonable levels of activity. The sector was celebrated recently at Insider’s second annual North West Asset Based Lenders Charity Dinner. The event raised almost £5,000 for cancer support charity CLIC Sargent and was compered by the excellent Colin Murray.
Guests from the likes of Shawbrook Bank, Close Brothers, Leumi ABL, Sanderson Weatherall, Praetura Commercial Finance and SIA Group attended the charity dinner at the Midland Hotel in Manchester.”
