Hope City Church to be converted into apartments following recent sale

Marketing / 30 Jan, 18

Following the sale of Hope City Church on York Road, a planning application has been submitted for the conversion of the building into 52 one and two-bedroom apartments.

The 45,000 sq ft property was sold by our Leeds agency team to Leeds City Apartments Ltd.

The building was formerly the headquarters of Leeds City Council’s library service before it was converted into a medical clinic in 2006 and then a church in 2008.

Jonathon White, agent in our Leeds office commented, “We are pleased to have completed this sale on behalf of Hope City Church and after seeing the submitted plans we are looking forward to the outcome of the scheme. Due to the property’s size, proximity to Leeds city centre and prominence on York Road we received a significant number of enquiries from purchasers suggesting a wide range of alternative uses.”

The proposed development would comprise 52 apartments and a 2,200 sq ft retail unit along with a number of parking spaces to service the apartment buildings.
