The annual cycle ride has become something of an institution at Sanderson Weatherall, having taken place for numerous years and raising many thousands of pounds for worthy causes. This year, the team of 20 SW property professionals will be riding circa 180miles – from Walney Island (a small island on Cumbria’s Irish Sea coast) to the historic North Yorkshire seaside town of Whitby.
The route takes the team across the southern Lake District peninsulas, through the Lune Valley, over the North Pennines and finally up and down the North Yorkshire Moors. Cycling up to 85 miles in a day, the demanding coast-to-coast cycle is challenging in both the distance and the terrain, with exhausting inclines (and scary descents!) scattered throughout. You can read more about the route at – http://cyclingw2w.info/.
The team have chosen to ride in support of ‘Core’ – a charity committed to fighting a range of digestive diseases. Core does this in 3 key ways:
•Funding vital research that develops new treatments and saves lives;
•Providing expert information for people affected , their families and their carers; and
•Promote awareness and discussion about digestive health
You can learn more about the great work of the charity at http://corecharity.org.uk
Any donations would be greatly appreciated for this very worthy cause – and you can do so by clicking here.
The team will depart from Walney Island on the morning of Thursday 29th June and will be aiming to complete the ride in three days – arriving in Whitby on the evening of Saturday 1st July, wish them the best of luck.
