Having represented the client for over 20 years on their former site at New Earswick, Sanderson Weatherall was asked to advise on an anticipated Rating assessment for a new site at York Business Park. Estimates of rateable value and rates liability were provided. The Valuation Office Agency merged several former assessments together and we advised an appeal.
In negotiations firstly a good reduction was achieved by persuading the VOA to serve a revised notice altering the assessment. This in turn was appealed and a substantial further reduction was achieved by agreement, both in the then current 2005 Rating List and in the new 2010 revaluation assessment.
As a result of our highly successful Rating appeals we have recently been asked to provide further property advice.
