Case Study: Acquisition of over 200 houses enables housing regeneration scheme

Marketing / 12 Sep, 14

We acted on behalf of Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council in the acquisition of over 200 houses, using Compulsory Purchase powers for a housing regeneration scheme in the Grangetown area of Middlesbrough.

Only one of the compensation claims was not settled by negotiation and was subsequently referred to Upper Tribunal (Lands Chamber).

Richard Farr, partner in our compulsory purchase team, acted as Expert for the Acquiring Authority and presented the valuation evidence, ensuring that the compensation offered by Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council was accepted.

Mr Paul Francis, FRICS Lands Chamber member stated in his decision: “I am entirely satisfied that the evidence produced by Mr Farr supports his opinion of value, and I accept it.”
